Joe: September 8, 2003:

originally, I was going to write another rant about some relatively trivial occurrence in my recent daily routine... then I realized that this upcoming week was the to year anniversary of one of the greatest tragedies to befall humanity during my short lifetime.

The emotions and effects resulting from the events of September 11th, 2001 are not pleasant to relive. It would be much easier to forget them. However, to forget would be a great injustice to all those that were touched by those tragic events. Finding a way to express the myriad of emotions from that day two years ago is a challenge. It's difficult to convey the magnitude of shock, loss and disbelief (IMO, this does a pretty good job).

There is also a personal side for everyone who remembers that day. So, instead of me fumbling over words, I hope everyone will take a moment and honor those affected with a personal memorial of remembrance.

Laura: September 8, 2003:

Since I won't be using my rantspace for a few weeks, I thought we should put something else in here each week, instead of one stale rant. So every week, we're going to feature a webcomic that we think is pretty spiffy and that you should most definitely check out.

So this week it's:

A tale of a girl and her... um... avatar of a matrix of infinite time-space portals... as they... ... keep the universe safe from ... the vigilante hacker crew of a ... starship named after an existentialist philosopher. ... ... right...

I guess you'll just have to go and read it for yourself.
