what have I gotten myself into?!?!

the gravity of NaNoWriMo is starting to set in. 50,000 words. that's about 1,700 words per day. realistically, I would have to write around 2,000 to 2,500 words a day since I know I won't be able to work on it every day. Then, there's all the preparation work that needs to be done. I don't know about the other writers who are participating, but I need to do a lot of planning and outlining before I start a project.

But honestly, I'm really excited about this project. There are some cool ideas churning around in my mind for it. If any people out there have ever even had the passing thought of wanting to write, I would encourage you to sign up for NaNoWriMo. It's really a great motivation, and there is really isn't much to lose in just trying it. Sure, it's an entire month... but in a different light, it's only a month! And, you never know. You might end up with the next great novel!

Weekly WebComic Feature

Since I won't be using my rantspace for a few weeks, I thought we should put something else in here each week, instead of one stale rant. So every week, we're going to feature a webcomic that we think is pretty spiffy and that you should most definitely check out.

So this week it's:

Some things just run in the family... and some things don't. But since you never know which, you shouldn't let something like a parent's reputation get in your way. Grainne Edwards isn't about to let something like family history get in the way of her dream to become a wizard. Good art, good story... the only down side is that... I think she update slower than we do.
